What is a Font

A font encompasses a set of text characters presented in a specific style. For optimal legibility, it is advisable to employ fonts that fall within the range of 8 to 12 points in size. You can find more details on font recommendations in the official document available at the following link: US Government Font Size Recommendation.

Always embed your fonts or convert to outlines.

A common issue that frequently arises when fonts are not embedded in a document is the substitution or rasterization of the chosen design style. This occurs when the computer opening the file does not possess the precise font you selected, resulting in a pixelated appearance.

Occasionally, fonts of any kind may encounter issues. To completely eliminate font substitution or rasterization, the minimum step you can take is to embed the fonts in your file. However, we strongly recommend outlining your text (in Illustrator) or flattening the image (in Photoshop) for optimal results.

Illustrator

Go to Type>Create Outlines

Photoshop

Layer Options>Flatten image

Please be aware that once you've outlined your text, it becomes uneditable. Therefore, it's essential to maintain a backup file that you can modify should the need for changes arise in the future.
